John Charles Clark of St Ives sums up my work very well in the following sentence: "Endowed with the natural gifts of drawing, composition and use of colour, her search has been to find a language that will allow her to use her abilities for channeling images direct from her psyche onto canvas and paper without too much dependence on her 'given skills', while also avoiding a too literal representation of her subject". Following the death of my husband in August 2009, I have recently "taken up the brush again", and the 3 works that I will be showing at the Porthmeor Group's 2010 exhibition, will go under the banner "the pictures that you find in the windmills of your mind" - I feel that with this freedom I will be able to explore the full range of my abilities -- this is only the beginning.
